Childhood trauma and dissociation in female patients with fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a functional pain syndrome manifested by psychological symptoms such as dissociative symptoms, which are closely related to childhood trauma. The purpose of this research was compare female fibromyalgia patients and healthy females investigate the prevalence trauma symptoms. study included 51 followed up with diagnosis in Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Outpatient Clinic Bezmialem Vakıf University, control group identical sociodemographic characteristics. All participants were aged 18-69 years, free conditions other vital medical or psychiatric disorders. Evaluations made using form, Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, Abuse Neglect Question Form, Dissociative Experiences Scale Visual Analogue Scale. One main findings that 88.2% had experienced stated higher than (p=.05).
